of special interest include kidney stones, prostate disease,
and sexual dysfunction.
Dr. Bandstra's hobbies
are music, golf, baseball, hunting and fishing. He was
born in Wilmar, Minnesota and then moved to Pella, Iowa at age
3. After graduating from Pella High school, Dr. Bandstra went
on to study Chemistry as an undergraduate at Central College.
He pursued his medical training at the University Of Iowa and
then completed his residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals
and Clinics.
He specializes in surgical kidney disease and
urinary disorders. Like the other physicians in Surgical Associates,
Dr. Bandstra seeks noninvasive solutions whenever possible.
With ESWL he is often able to treat kidney stones with shock
waves. In addition to his technical prowess, Dr. Bandstra makes
his patients feel comfortable talking about difficult and private
matters.
