What To Expect Follow-Up After Surgery

After surgery, you will follow-up with your surgeon, family health provider, and bariatric educator. Below is the schedule of follow-ups. You will note that after the first two years, an annual appointment is necessary.

Bariatric Follow-up Sequence

Surgical Hospital Stay


1 Week Follow up with Surgeon


1 Month Follow-up with Surgeon (Possibly Vitamin Panel)
                                                                                 
 

  • 3 Month Medical Follow-up with P.A. (Surgeon if needed)

  • 6 Month Medical Follow-up with P.A. (Surgeon if needed)

  • 9 Month Follow-up with P.A. (Surgeon if needed)
  • 12 Month Follow-up with P.A. (Surgeon if needed)
  • (Vitamin Panel and Bone Density Test)
  • 18 Month Follow-up with P.A. (Surgeon if needed)
  • 24 Month Follow-up with P.A. (Surgeon if needed)
  • (Vitamin Panel and Bone Density Test)
  • Annually Follow-up with P.A. (Surgeon if needed)
  • (Vitamin Panel and Bone Density Test)
