Dr. Wilson as the third surgeon in 1991 after completing
his residency at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. He was
instrumental in the development of new applications for
laparoscopy. With Dr. Coster's vision, the Grinnell General
Hospital changed from a primary care hospital to a state-of-the-art
regional medical center that now includes a formal trauma
program, expanded intensive care capabilities, and added
surgical services in vascular and thoracic surgery. Surgical
Associates became known both regionally and nationally
for its work in the application of laparoscopy to general
